I've heard this and all I can say is that the only thing I can say for sure is that if one has the urge to run around naked while cleaning his gun, he should spray some windex on himself.....it'll keep you from streaking.

Your avatar looks like a gun barrel soaking in Windex. Come on vapo, come clean, you use that Windex? Eeker

What the hell is your avatar a picture of anyway?

Speaking of Windex.

I met an old guy(78-80?) at the Range one day who was off to the side shooting Patched Round balls at a rather small Target out at 50yds.

He would shoot, slip a small tube on the nipple, give a blow through the tube, remove it, add powder, lay a strip of patch across the muzzle, push a round ball into the patching just below the muzzle, cut off the excess patching, shove the ball home and then:

He took a piece of cloth, sprayed it with a Blue liquid and give the Bore 5-strokes.

Then line-up and shoot. He was like watching an Assembly Line Robot go through the motions, every time, the motions were exactly the same.

After destroying his concentration by asking him about his rifle, he stopped and answered a lot of questions for me. He said he was using Windex and I didn't smell any Ammonia. So it must have been the Original Windex formula.

Left no Streaks on the Target, as VapoDog said.
