NMcollektorREMOVING LEAD FROM CERAKOTE
Hi all - I have a S&W revolver that has been cerakoted and has vaporized lead along the front edges of the cylinder.
Can anyone recommend a way to remove the lead without taking off the finish? Otherwise, I'll likely just leave it.
Thank you in advance for the advice!

dpcdI'd just leave it. Not worth the hassle of mercury.
Lysol toilet bowl cleaner.
I used it on a suppressor. exterior coating which looked like a PVD finish was unaffected.
strips carbon easily and quickly.
As far as stripping Cera-Kote? I kind of doubt it will affect Cera-Kote as I've found Cera-Kote to be durable enough to require Aluminum oxide blast or 180gt emery cloth for removal of Cera-Kote or Black-T.
Other uses, stripping bluing, stripping heat treat scale on parts post heat treat.
It will create a Matte finish on polished
steel.
Other similar products that are mildly caustic,
CLR, Tarnex.
