Use of silicon spray?

Hi guys,

I have a couple of semi autos (Brno 22 WMR and H&K .223) and am curious about the use of silicon spray in the action area. My theory is that silicon (or perhaps even teflon) will not collect powder residue at the rate that my current oil-based lubes do. Has anyone tried silicon sprays in any firearms, and are there any do or don't do suggestions?

Thanks,
Bruce

I have on several occasions. Never had
a problem. Doesn't collect dirt and dust as
badly as oil either.

I bought some kind of silicon spray lube maybe STP brand to use on a old vehicle window guild. That crap kinda dryed into a sticky varnish gunk and was hard to get off the window. I dont like silicon spray or maybe it was just a bad brand.
