I am going to pick up a new cleaning rod (Dewey 1 piece nylon coated) and was wondering about the size. I shoot mostly .224 and .308 calibers but wondered if I could get by with just the smaller rod (.22-.26). They have the same thread size, so...???

If you wanted to you could get by, but I would not reccomend it. I believe that the .224 rod will be a little flimsy in cleaning the .308.
