In his book, a well respected BR shooter/world champion/hall of famer mentioned using it--however--he also mentioned that he uses 10 to 20 passes with a tight fitting bronze brush in conjunction with the cleaner............and an inspection with a borescope at intervals. In my experience, the same results are obtained with the same effort using Hoppes bore gel, Shooter's choice MC#7 mixed with Kroil, Shooter's choice Aqua Clean used in conjunction with the MC#7 mix, Butch's Bore shine in the same mix and combination, Bore Tech Eliminator the same and the KC products, ditto. So far, according to my (and others with the equipment to look) real world eyeball observation using a borescope, there is no substitute for the key ingredient in bore cleaning: i.e. elbow grease. I use the accelerator now and then along with the other -OUT products...haven't ran any definitive tests, tho'...it smells good enough to lick. Just about ANY witch's brew of the modern gun cleaning products will do a good job however you mix them or not...the individual producs mixed or otherwise have performance properties of some sort so try them all and YOU decide what works best. Good advertizing cleans more guns, mo'betta, than I ever could and sells more cleaning products, to more people, than P.T. Barnum and Madison ave combined. I buy EVERY new product that hits the market and use it for a while...I like TM and Shooters choice, Kroil, the -OUTS, nylon brushes, ALL the extreme copper cleaners, JB, Isso, Flitz, but don't get anal with the cleaning anymore...your results may vary. I've tried accelerator, and didn't notice any appreciable difference, but I've always let the wipe-out foam sit overnight. I think time is what really works in this case. Once I switched to Wipe-out, I've only needed to use a brush when I see carbon build up with my borescope. Elbow grease seldom required. -nosualc Beware the fury of an aroused democracy. -Ike | |||
