It wasn't my lion...it was Vanessa's. I didn't hunt it...she did. Not really sure why it took balls to post it....I didn't try to make it out to be anything it wasn't. Vanessa's Mom actually passed away during our trip and that lioness really means a lot to her for a lot of reasons so maybe just give it a rest hero.

My only game farming comments have been related to CWD in cervids in North America so not sure what that has to do with a lion in South Africa but you've never let the truth get in the way of a good story now have you.

What, you didn't get enough response on the other messageboard where you tried to slag her so you thought you'd try it here? I guess if you want to get in a dick measuring contest with someone, a woman is as safe as any. Thanks for proving my earlier statement in this thread.

They may not be the largest, but the experience is what keeps me returning each year.

I will probably never have the opportunity to hunt Africa and feel it is a shame that sharing of another hunter's experiences were removed to due other's opinions.

mdatewart, I must say that I love the drive on Highway 64 between my house and Chattanooga (where fiancee's family lives). The beauty of the mountains sure makes that drive go by a lot more quickly.

Look me up sometime when you're in Chattanooga. I have you over and we'll shoot a double rifle or something that's of interest.

I will have to do that some time. I sincerely appreciate the offer.

A valid point.

Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen:

To the hunter who posted his story of his adventure in Africa and then removed it:

I am here to ask you to re-post your story with all the pictures. My reasons are selfish so I hope you will indulge me.

It has been a life-long dream of mine to hunt Africa. My primary quarry is Cape Buffalo, followed by plains game.

I am 54 years old and I have been putting this trip off for many reasons. No time, not enough money, obligations to the wife and any other number of excuses I have been able to come up with.

I have been coming to d.r.s.s. for a couple of years now and one of the first places I head to is the hunt reports. It allows me to live vicariously until I go on my own hunt.

On the first of May, 2013, I faced a life altering event that brought extreme clarity to the concept of mortality. I had a heart attack at work. Due to the quick actions of the first aid team, (I work in Northern Alberta on a remote industrial construction site), I was medi-vac'd into Edmonton, and underwent an angioplasty. The resulting damage to the heart was minimal.

As I type this, I am recovering and starting to plan my first African hunt for 2014. In the mean time, I will rely on all you fine ladies and gentlemen to relay your glorious adventures of the hunt via this forum.

Mr. Lion Hunter, the one thing I have learned in my 54 years is you can't please everyone. Don't even try. The only thing you CAN do is please yourself. And in so-doing, to hell with the nay-sayers. Surround yourself with those that support you and ignore the rest. I for one am one of your supporters.

Kind regards,

Carpediem

No politician who supports gun control should recieve armed protection paid for by those he is trying to disarm.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-scotch in one hand-Chocolate in the other-body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO-HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!"
