Good morning Hunters

just here with an update on the incredible season the NOA team is having in Cameroon this year.

We have had four clients come for Bongo. All of them have taken their bongo within the first 4 days. Our Bongo average is sitting at 31 " and our biggest shot was just under 34".
This all despite the fact that the rains have been late this year and hunting is usually better in the rain. It is great to see returns on all the extra work, research and development we have done in our concessions.

The advantage to getting the bongo in the skinning shed so early is it gave our clients great opportunities on other key species with two clients taking dwarf forest buff and one client achieving a "Full Cycle" (Bongo, Buff, forest Sitatunga)

Here are some photos from Cameroon.

Wow. Very impressive. I am curious as to the story of the broken horned Bongo though. Shot late in the hunt? Didn't see the broken horn? Quite a dedicated hunter to willingly shoot broken horned glamour game!

Hi Tendrams
To answer your question it was not shot late in the hunt. The way you hunt bongo is by tracking and walking up to them and most times you get within less than 10 yards of the bongo. In this situation the forest was very thick and the bongo had its head down into the brush and you could only see one horn, which was 31.5" so with seconds to decide to shoot it was a no brainer to take the bongo, as a 31.5" bongo in the bush is an amazing trophy!!

Wasn't diminishing the trophy at all! Great looking animal! I suspected it was a visibility issue.

Thanks for sharing!
How did your clients do on forest Buffalo?

Is that your own area?

I understand, thank you.
We just believe in full honesty, it is still a great trophy at 31" but a pity about the horn. Yes we are hunting in some of the thickest Africa jungle you can get and visibility and shot opportunities are both very short.

@Caracal Buff are a very tough but exciting hunt and we have had great success with the clients up for the challenge.
Obviously Bongo is the priority species and then most clients try for forest sitatunga next. the two that have tried for buff have both got them.

The Areas are not our own we have strategic partnerships in cameroon where we have exclusive rights to the area during the prime hunting time! We work hand in hand with our partner to perfect the camp, logistics, area, roads, etc

Awesome trophies....few game animals can even compare to the beauty of a Bongo, in my opinion.

Congratulations to the lucky hunters!!
