JPK,

Thank you for taking the time to compose such a complete and detailed report. It is one the best I have ever read on AR. Congratulations on a perfect first safari and a wonderful selection of trophies.

JPK,

Well I'm very pleased to finally get some time to at least look at the pictures. I've been in my hunting camp on and off for weeks. I will need MORE time to read your incredible report.
Good job on everything and congratulations. It is most gratifying to be a part of your first Safari. Talk to you soon. Best Regards, Keith

Thanks New Guy.

This one is a Chobie Bushbuck from Chewore and I think he went just a tick under, call it 16 3/4".

Of course we took a walk down one of the smaller dry tributaries to the river in the photo and saw one standing there at forty yards that would have gone 17 1/2", according to Richard. He thought he was hidden, or he knew we didn't have the quota!

One of the few regrets I do have about this trip is not shooting a much larger Southern Bushbuck. The one in the other photo was about 14 1/2", I think, and he's beautiful to me; but one day when we were walking back to the truck from checking a leopard bait at Humani we saw one that was just huge. Richard urged me to shoot him but I already had one so I passed. Later, I replayed the photos on the camera and understood why Richard was urging me to shoot.

JPK

PS: We saw some really nice bushbuck in both places, but Humani is crawling with them, and nyala too.

Congratulations on your hunt and trophies. Since I'm on dialup, it's taken me a while to read your whole report. Fantastic.

JPK, congratulations on a great safari, chewore south is a lovely spot and it sounds like Richard got his hands on the Kreighoff 470NE.
Did you meet PH Peter Wood?

Ozhunter,

Yes Richard did get the 470 and I met Peter Wood, he was a very nice fellow and good fun too!

I loved Chewore South. You'd think its desolate in Oct looking at it but its anything but, especially once you look at the # of springs.

Congrats on your great hunt in Chewore North.

Thanks guys.

I had a ton of fun reliving my safari as I wrote the report. I'd recommend others try the long winded approach just for the fun of it!
