I returned earlier this month from my first trip to Africa hunting in Namibia with Trophy Trackings and PH Danie Jansen van Vauuren. The hunt took place June 22-29 What an outstanding experience. The hunting was top notch, and they treated me like a king. Danie has a 12,000 acre ranch near Outjo, but we also hunted on his father's 12,000 acres. In addition to that, he also has access to more ground. After 5 days of hunting in that area we traveled about 90 min east of Windhoek to a 60,000 acre ranch that belongs to his in-laws.

My hunt consisted of a 51" kudu, 39 3/8 gemsbok, 13 3/4 springbok, 23 5/8 red hartebeest and was in the right place at the right time for a cheetah. There were plenty of options for a variety of other quality game, but I am saving those for my next trip, as I too have come down with the virus... The other game sighted was Eland, blue and black wildebeest, Black face impala, baboon, duiker, blesbok, steenbok, giraffe, zebra and jackal.

Weapons used were a Browning stainless stalker in 338 Win Mag Shooting handloaded 225 grain Barnes Triple Shocks and a pre 64 Model 70 in .270. It was handloaded with 150 grain triple shocks.

Here is the url for his website. http://www.trophytracking.com/ I can't recommend him enough.

Jay,
Sounds like you had a great hunt. Always nice to hear about a fellow Washintonian's success on the dark continent. I too was there again this year in May/June and took a lot of nice animlas (my reports is further down in this section). Congrats again.
