Arrival
We followed GPS which took us to wrong route. If you are Driving follow Van’s directions to a tee. We arrived late so missed lunch but we had a fantastic dinner shortly after arrival. The rooms were ready and everything was all set for our trip.

Rooms
Accommodations were good. There were four of us. Two had their own rooms and two of us shared one room. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. The structures were authentic to the area. Round huts with post and beam roofs and thatched. The rooms were cleaned daily. Beds were made and laundry was done every day. House staff was very professional.
There was no full time power at the camp. This is set up as an authentic hunting camp. There is a generator that provides power in the morning and the evening. You are able to wash and use the facilities when the power is running. There was plenty of time to charge phones and cameras while the power was on. There was always running water throughout the whole day. Tanks were filled while the power was running. When the power was off there were gas lights to light the rooms. Hot water was provided via wood burning heaters. We generally showered at the end of the day before dinner. The morning was early up, quick breakfast and out to hunt. We did ask for hot water on the final day in the AM. This was taken care of. We were up at 5AM and were fine with the way things were.

Food
Breakfast was quick and simple. Coffee, cereals and toast. We thought it was ample as we were usually recovering from a hearty dinner the night before. Just what was needed to get going and get hunting rather than a heavy full breakfast. One of our group liked eggs for breakfast. We requested that and the chef had boiled eggs ready for us upon request.
Lunch was more substantial. The staff used the fire to its full potential. The boiled stews, roasted and BBQ all on the fire. They grilled sandwiches on the fire coals too. They served homemade salads with lunch which were really good.
Dinner was fantastic. We were able to sample a wide variety of the game we shot. We had loins, burgers, pasta dishes and much more. Dinner was followed by African desserts which really sealed the deal.
The bar was stocked every morning and afternoon. There was plenty to choose from. The fridge was filled with cold local beer. There was a good variety of liquors and wine when we wanted it. There was bottled water and a variety of soft drinks too.

Hunting
We were directed to the range to check our guns when we arrived.
We were told what time and what would happen for the first day. The guides were there waiting for us as we were told. The guides had clean, safe vehicles with comfortable seating. All vehicles had gun racks for convenience. All of the vehicles had drinks coolers packed and chairs if you were going to blinds. Our suggestion is to take chairs from the fire pit area for the blinds they were the most comfortable.
The guides were professional hunters and all had their own trackers with them. The PH’s were very knowledgeable about all the wildlife on the property. They were very familiar with all the habit and the property as a whole. It was most enjoyable to spend time with them in their world. Most of the guides had hunting dogs on the jeep to assist tracking if anything was wounded. We really enjoyed watching the dogs work they were very well trained. The trackers were exceptional. All the game that we hunted was shot well but we did have some animals that that we had to track. It was amazing to watch the guides and trackers go to work. Very impressive to see how they worked amongst so many prints on the ground.
Game was plentiful at the safari. The guides knew where to focus their attention on the property dependent upon what you were interested hunting. There was a wide variety of terrain and topography. It was dynamic to be able to hunt all the different areas for different game.
We stalked a good deal of game. We also hunted watering areas in the heat of the day. The water holes were very cool. We used brush blinds to sit in. We were able to see most of the game on the property. We focused on specific times of the day for specific animals at the water. While hunting it was nice to be able to watch all the other animals using the water areas. Great photo opportunities.
After a successful hunt the game was taken to the processing area where the butcher was waiting. Whatever you wanted to be with you animals was taken care of. All the meat went to good use and the taxidermy side was done too.
The property was well kept the roads were good it as easy to get around during the hunt. There were some overhanging branches that you had to duck from once in a while but what do you expect when you have 20,000 acres!

Departure
Departure was smooth. There were no headaches or surprises.

End notes
We had a great trip. The hunting, food lodging and everything overall was great. The owner and all the staff took good care of us. We had a lot of great hunting and a lot of laughs. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking to hunt plains game in South Africa.
We went out at the end of the trip for lunch in a local wildlife park which was fun. We also stopped off at a local pub on the way home to see how the locals do it. We would highly recommend that!!
