jwmTerrific report, as yours always are.
The double-eland/father-son trophy photo is one of the best trophy pics I've ever seen. Congratulations to you and your son.

Bill CThanks guys as always for the comments and feedback!
John - yea, we exceeded the bandwidth of the free PhotoBucket account (!) so unless it resets after a period of inactivity, I'll need to upgrade to the $30/yr "Plus20" plan.

Bill COk, they are back up!
It’s actually pretty neat the way Photobucket works. The bandwidth usage is cumulative but resets back to zero every month on the anniversary date. So for this first month the usage was high, but hereafter it will be below the 10GB cap. This is nice in that as long as there is a Photobucket, the pictures should continue in perpetuity. I paid $2.99 for the "Unlimited Bandwidth" package, but will cancel this, until such time if/as I need more storage.
Regarding the ~6 month delay in getting this report posted, part of it was committing to the block of time that I knew would be required to assemble and post, but I think mostly the report signifies the end of the hunt. Without another one on the horizon, I was holding on to this one as long as I could.
Thanks again for the comments and messages.

longwingHi Bill,
I remember you saying you would post a "substantial" report on our hunt, was not expecting such a thorough and engrossing story. Great reading, and I'm happy you only recently put it together - in reading it, I have relived our long walks, stalks, disappointments, highs and lows, without the pain - relaxing by the fireside in our Uganda camp. Thanks very much.
Best regards to you and Brett.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Ali HakimGreat Hunt report Bill. Must have been a wonderful experience with your son. Have been to the BVC a couple of times myself and your report was like dejavu. Can't believe you captured a Cheetah on your camera. Was hunting for one forever, never came across one. Loved the photographs, thanks for sharing,
Ali
