The season has begun and we have had a great start to it.

Area - MATETSI ECA
PH - PHILLIP SMYTHE (IVORY TRAIL SAFARIS)
Rifle - .375
Species - Leopard, Sable, Hyena, odds and ends
Dates - 17th April - 30th April 2017

We headed up to Matetsi for a Sable and leopard hunt in April this year. For those of you who know Matetsi, the long grass makes it a challenging hunt, particularly so early, but we were confident that we would make it work.

With the heavy rains Zimbabwe had over this last wet season, everything was a lot greener and wetter!

We had a fantastic hunt, even though it did rain a few days in April (very strange) and we walked away with some great memories in those 2 weeks.

I hope you enjoy the photographs and that they portray a story about how we are passionate about what we do and why we do it.

Happy hunting.

The elephant whisperer... Smiler

Our leopard was the prefect specimen to take. Nice and old, his teeth tell a great story.

We found some amazing things on the way!

That elephant was actually quite fascinating...

This was a local community that had found a young elephant a few years ago and was educating the populace. She was quite 'friendly'!

I wasn't sure how she would take to the truck with the smell of blood on it, but she okay with it and seemed to like Royce a little too much!

I was very impressed with how the community were taking initiatives and utilizing funds from the hunting industry, going towards not only school ad water projects but an interactive approach to teaching others about our wildlife.

HAHAHAHA - as you can see I made a great stalk getting in reeeeal close.
I'm sure you have heard the tails of African PH's lulling animals to sleep with their whispers.... no calibre necessary...
