There were several requests within my last report for pictures of the camp and the countryside at Vaughan Fulton's concession near Etosha. Please excuse the quality, these are hastily scanned hard copies. I think I have digitals of most, but they're buried amongst 600 or so on a CD that I'm still sorting through. The camp is strategically placed in the bottom of a canyon under large leadwood trees. There is generally a nice breeze that keeps things cool in the plentiful shade. Here is a view of the camp as you drive in: ![]() Here is a view from the other side as seen from the front door of my tent. You can see the fire pit to the right, the dining tent in the right-middle, and other hunters' (and Vaughan's tent) to the left. The staff's tents and work areas are in the background. ![]() Here is a shot of my home away from home. Note the tent's "foyer", shower, and porta potti enclosure. All the amenities of home with a nice atmosphere. ![]() Here is the inside of the dining tent. With Sarah's cooking, this was my favorite place (with the exception of the fire where we topped off the day with a cold Tafel). ![]() Here is the whole group. Again, pardon the low quality. Vaughan's staff works like a well-oiled machine, seeing to your every need. These are some great folks. ![]() Here is a shot from the back of we lovingly nicknamed "Mount Kudu." Rough country, but this is where some of the bigger Gray Ghosts hang out. ![]() | ||
