The last hunt of the year came all to quickly for us at Ivory Trail Safaris but it has allowed me time to spend with my family and my new 3 month old daughter!

Mike arrived in style on his first Africa trip after 40 years of dreaming about it!
What a pleasure it was hunting with a friend who has dreamed about Africa and we were able to get him out here to experience it!

Buffalo was on the agenda and it soon became apparently after the first 15 minutes of driving that we were going to have a lot of fun on this safari.

We were on Hammond ranch in the Save in October so for those of you who have hunted the Save in October you will remember the heat radiating off the dry soil!

Needless to say, we had a great time with Mike shooting a lovely old dugga boy. Worn down, big bosses, full of character AND taken with his .470 open sighted double at close quarters! What made it more memorable was Leonard, my tracker was sick with Malaria and so we tracked and stalked this buffalo by ourselves from start to finish.

Thanks Mike, for letting us start your hunting career in Africa! I look forward to seeing you back here in 2018! Smiler

Its amazing what we do run into in the wilderness! We watched these lion cubs calling their mother and as we sat quietly watching them she appeared out of the brush to carry them away

Phillip let me be first to congratulate you on one of the finest of buffalo to appear on this site. In my book.

Fantastic photograph that deserves to be reproduced on metal plate.

Well done mate.

Thanks! We passed up a number of bulls before we found this old boy.
The Save is hard to beat - we can be selective which obviously is so important in hunting!
