I promised to up date many people here on the AR with regards to the out come of the discounted ele bull hunts In Dande East that I had offered and many were interested in but for various reasons were unable to commit.

We have just completed our first full 10 day double ele bull hunt in the East with Petr and Sdenek . Petr had hunted with us before and shot tuskless and buff. In 10 days hunting in East with Richie Schultz they shot two very nice ele bulls. We still need to weigh them but they are in the 40- 50lbs range which for a 10 day hunt is excellent.

The last bull was shot out of a group of 16 bulls!! Richie, due to the fact that they were close to the Moz border and fickle winds, decided to take the first decent bull they saw which was the 3rd bull. It certainly was the right decision but one wonders what was in the other 13 bulls!!! Petr and Sdenek are presently in Moz hunting croc and I heard they have got one so far which is 13 ft plus which is nice.

The Dande Safari Area has been second to none for elephant in the Zambezi Valley. Out of our quota of 3 we have got a 71 lbs with Gabrielle, a 53lbs with Rob Jolly and what would have been conservatively another 50lbs plus which we unfortunately wounded and after 2 days of tracking was lost crossing into Mozambique. Our average would have been 58lbs for our 3 eles which for the Zambezi Valley would, with out doubt been the top average for a Zambezi Valley area for the 2010 season!

Apart from the eles, despite the very thick bush, we have had good buff and cat hunting. We have shot 3 out of our 5 leopard with two hunts still coming in and we got our one lion on quota. Check out our website www.cmsafaris.com for more info! Happy hunting.

Cheers for now Buzz

Hah... hunting puddy tats with Buzz ought to be fun!

Nice elephant Buzz, very nice!

As one of the storied hunting concessions in all of Africa, Dande has long held a fascination for me. Well done with your season so far, Buzz. Claudia and I are looking forward to our hunt with you there this Fall - and hopefully your streak of success will still be going strong!

Hi All

Thanks for the comments guys. It has been a great season so far. Two more ele bulls were shot in the East by Niel Duckworth in 3 days of hunting. One about 40lbs and a 70lbs which unfortunately was wounded and lost across the border which is a terrible thing which I have experienced first hand this season also!

We still have a single bull avaialble and as the Masau fruit are out there is quite alot of bull movement still in the area.

The DSA hunting has been great and the drier it gets more Buff seem to pile in so we are looking forward to having Tim Herald and group and also Kim and Claudia to mention a few of the AR members out soon with us! Happy hunting!

Congratulations CMS, those bulls are excellent. I reckon you probably still top the valley averages, even with the lost bulls.
Cheers, Dave
