First post. Long time lurker and more recent member.

My wife arrived in Namibia earlier today, and is currently eating dinner with Jamy Traut at Panorama Camp. Begins her 8 day safari tomorrow. She is with Wayne Vanzwoll and 3 other ladies on one of his Safari Sisters expeditions.

She went last year and had a blast. She got serious about this Africa hunting experience and upgraded to a 375 H&H. Wants to add to her collection from last year.

Hopefully this will encourage her to provide a trip report when she returns.

Wow, congratulations to her. Hope she has a great time and a super hunt.

Jamy is one of the good guys in Namibia.

Looking forward to her hunting report.

It's great to see a new hunter born who loves this sport as much as the rest of us. Good luck to your wife.

I am taking a friend this year on his first hunt ever, to Africa. Hopefully, if he likes it, the world, and the US, will have another pro-gun and pro-hunter to add to its ranks, just like your wife.

We need 'em... tu2

Thanks for the kind responses.

Finally got a little info from my wife. Having some difficulties with communication due to wifi issues with both WhatsApp and our texting.

Hopefully she can fill in all the details with a full report when she returns. There are actually 5 ladies on this hunt. 3 have hunted in Africa previously (including my wife last year), two others extensively. My wife has actually hunted for over 10 years, as we have bird dogs and has taken deer and elk since we started big game hunting a few years back. She is an avid advocate for women's hunting and gun rights.

She loved her first experience last year in Africa, and jumped at the return for this year.

Sounds like she has fired two shots during the first two days of her safari. First day was a Mountain zebra (to go with her Burchells from last year) and day two (today actually) was a big eland cow. Her texted pic, to my untrained eye, shows a quite nice set of horns, long and well matched. She said both animals were drt, using 260 gr partitions. I get the idea she likes her new rifle.

Can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
