Hunted Sept.2004 with Bethaven Safari's. North Of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. It was a fantastic experience that I hope to repeat in the near future.

Hey prairie wolf!

That African hunting really gets in your blood doesn't it!
I always dreamed of hunting Africa, wanted to go just once to see it, that's all, just once to be able to know what Africa was all about. In the late 1990's I did my first safari in Zimbabwe, just booked my 6th safari for 2005! Taken 88 trophies in Zim. And I don't plan on stopping! I'm already thinking about my 7th & 8th safari! Boy am I screwed up! Can't stop thinking about it!

I like to hear another hunter bitten by Africa! Not sure what's up but I can't see your photo's, just boxes with red X's in them. Tried to click on them but no go, help me here, please.

I see that your from Fort McMurry, is "Pinky's" still in business? Good town Fort McMurry, spent quite a few days there, did alot of bear hunting north & south of town.

Again great going in Africa! Talk again...... Are you going to Reno in January?

Hey Bud!

Congrats on what was obviously a fabulous hunt. That looks like one hell of a Steenbok - and the others are all great looking!

Keep well - plan the next!

I will be passing your door in a couple weeks - heading up north after Bison, Moose etc - hope the snow is down and the temperature likely to stay below freezing for the next month!

Let me just say, "WOW!" That is an asolutely stunning Kudu. All the others are very nice, but the kudu is the most eye-popping.

Thanks for sharing.

Prairiewolf,
Welcome to the AR forums and congratulations on a great hunt. Your first hunt to Africa is rarely your last! You're from great hunting country. Heck, I've been to Ft. McMurray and spent a night at a helluva "peeler" bar before flying out early the next morning for a bear hunt. What those girls could do with Loonies would make a grown man blush!

Bwanamrm,

I was up thre for a few nights myself, Fort McMurry that is. If my mind servers me right the "gathering" place was called "Pinky's" had a cab over Kenworth coming out of the wall. Yes I have to agree, It was a amazing place, and yes the girls were amazing.
How did you hunt with up there?" I hunted a couple of years just south of town about a hour, great hunts!

Thanks a bunch for sharing the photos. I too hunted north of PE and you have bought back sweet memories. Great Kudu and that Steenbok oughta make some type of book. Consider a full body mount for the little guy.....You'll not regret it later.

Great photos!!

Widowmaker,
I hunted with Alberta Adventures and my guide and outfitter was Phil Mascaro. Had a great hunt near Chipewan Lake north of the Athabasca River, if I recall correctly. I shot two big black bear, one squared 6'6" and the other 6'10". Great fishing for Northern Pike also. All around fun hunt and yes the particular establishment was Pinky's!
