I see very few reports of hunting activity. Don’t know whether traveling through Johannesburg is the problem as Dubai is often cited as the route and can be a difficult passage. Are there fewer professional hunters in Zimbabwe?
Namibia has a few more reports. What is the recommended route from the USA for getting there?
Thanks for any advice.

Getting where? Most are using Emirates or Ethiopian.

Nowadays I suspect many PHs will rather post photographs via PMs than in public as many photographs are lifted for anti-hunting purposes.

Saeed's annual hunt report is always worth waiting for.

Won’t be long now!

Roy and Rene arrived today.

We fly to Dar Thursday.

I will post details on the AR NO MISS bullets thread - I will renamed it, as it has relevant information about the hunt.

Stay tuned! clap

I was wondering the same thing. I fly out with family this Friday, EWR to Joberg. Spending a week with our friends Stef and Lenette (Numzaan Safaris) catching up and doing a little hunting and a lot of sitting around the fire circle talking, more focused on my 13 year olds first hunt. Will be curious to see the make up of our flight, though it's admittedly late in the year, but that's why we are going now so our friends are not so busy.

KevinNY,

I expect that Joberg is more accommodating now, especially if you are taking your 13 year old. That is our transit point for Zim and Namibia. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Please comment on AR if anything negative arises with Joberg.

What have been the latest issues through Joberg? We are not bringing our own guns and will have a gate escort at the jet way.

KevinNY,

That is a question best answered by your travel agent or by searching on the internet. I don’t know what restrictions, if any, apply in Joberg and don’t want to mislead you and your family. If you are hunting in SA the outfitter should be knowledgeable. I also am searching for information today to enable a trip to Namibia or Zimbabwe.

I just chatted with him on WhatsApp. All covid related restrictions were lifted as of July. TSA locks are always a good idea.

JNB was not a problem for us in June/July.
We flew Delta RON at City Lodge, then JNB to HRE the next morning. Booked with Gracy cleared with their arrival service. They met us at City Lodge and ushered us through the JNB departure the next morning. Tedious but not a problem. Arrival at HRE was not as bad as 2 years ago. The biggest problem is the whole covid arrival procedure which continues to change. Carry the card, have the QR code on you phone. They asked for the card from us.

Paddles10,

Were you going on a hunt in Zimbabwe? We have not been in five years. Would like another Cape buffalo hunt.

Thanks

Kevin,
I traveled thru JoBerg in August without my own gun and an escort arranged by TWG, which turned out to be an excellent idea. The escort helped retrieve bags and hustle me off to my local flight to Port Elizabeth. Based on Tim Herald’s advice, I just put clothes in my checked bag with no lock on it. Result: zero problems.

Just returned from a late hunt hunt in Zambia
with Johnny DuPlooy. Flew United to JoBurg direct from New York. (Delta also flies direct there from Atlanta,(I think) No problems at all
Travel with Guns and Afton House made it easy.
Zambia lifted its Visa requirement from the US a few weeks ago too.
Is there an easier way to post pictures ?
I had a hell of time, even with help. a quite a while ago. I'd like to submit a hunting report
with a few pictures.

I have stopped posting hunting reports. The hassle of getting attacked by anti-hunters or mocked by hunters has made it not worth the effort. I enjoy my hunts and share the details with friends.

I am not, under any circumstances, going to stop what I enjoy doing just to please a bunch of utterly stupid idiots.

feel sorry for them.

They are spineless, low life, stupid hypocrites.

Instead of going out and enjoying life, they devote their time in standing against others they feel very jealous of.

I have had arguments with some these idiots.

Never lost one.
