PH: Roy and Alan Vincent Zimbabwe Matetsi area Date: July, 2002
I have hunted in Mozambeque on two occasions,Zambia, and three times in South Africa but I can state, without fear of contradiction, that these folks are the best! Food, timing, staff, trackers, equipment, game,----- you name it and they will be at the top of the list. My remarks are not made just because I was able to get the animal I was after. Over 50 years of hunting experience places the Vincents at the top.
I went to Matetsi in an attempt to shot a leopard without a jack light. I booked a two week hunt which proved to be un-necessary.
On the evening of the third day of the hunt, I shot a mature tom in full daylight.I am not able to fault Alan in bait placement or blind placement or construction.
I had planned to hunt buff but the boys didn't think we could top the 40" I have at home, so we looked for another leopard track.
On the evening of the fifth day of the hunt, I shot Mr Spots #2 in the same tree that I had shot the first tom.
The area showed me lots of lions, elephants, kudu, waterbuck, and sable.
I highly recommend a hunt with the Vincents for those who wish to associate with class.
Just hunted 27 days with the Vincents and as usual everything was perfect. I shot 58 animals which i listed under "The bag" over in the African Big Game forum. You would never know that there was a bit of a problem in Zimbabwe while at their camp.
