I have just returned from my Safari, June 1-21 with HHK. I hunted the OMAY Communial Tribal Lands in Zimbabwe. My PH was Wayne Edwards.I had NO PROBLEMS of ANY kind on this trip. I was well pleased with all factors involving the company [HHK] from the inital booking through the hunt. Wayne Edwards is an excellent PH and most of all a fun guy to be around.I will definately hunt with him again. My Safari was designed around Lion, Leopard, 2 Buffalo, 2 Elephant Cows, and what ever plains game "got in the way. I was advised that the OMAY is primarily a Dangerous Game area, with some plains game. The hunting was challenging, exciting and extremely fun. I took a total of 21 game animals, of 8 different species. The Species were: Baboon, Buffalo, Elephant, Impala, Side Striped Jackel, Civet Cat, Klipspringer, Kudu, and a Waterbuck. I was well pleased with the quality of all the trophies. I am not really an "inch, how many points does it score" kind of guy, I did not even take a tape measure. The PH had a metric tape measure and I have some of the horn measurements in my notes and will include them in the reports on the individual animals. I also had my Safari Videoed by a Profesional Videographer Ian Lewis. This is one of the best decisions I made. He got some excellent and exciting footage. Also he was quite a bit of help on the tracking as well as spotting of the animals. He is also a very fine fellow and has become a good friend. He will video all my African hunts in the future, even if I have to adjust my Safari schedule around one of his prior bookings. So you can see how much I think of his work and enjoy his company. I plan to post info about my hunt on the African hunting forum in individual topics. They will be titled "450 No2 Safari: with the subject matter of the post listed here. I really enjoyed this trip and had a great time. My only regret is that I only booked a 21 day hunt, I wish I could have stayed longer, like 28, 38 or maybe 48 days There is one big suprise to my hunt... Elephant Bull.

No. 2: I look forward to hearing how you took your elephant with the Remington Model 700 that I heard you secretly took with you. Kidding aside, did you recover the bullet from the elephant, and if so, what was the performance?

Thats a good one JudgeG! Spoke with him Thursday! He's still keyed up! However, I can tell you that the ethics and standards committee of the Double Rifle Shooters Society will have to investigate this magazine rifle allegation. This may require several bottles of single malt and telling of great stories by 450 at our next get together!

Gentlemen of the Double Rifle Shooters Society, you can all rest assured that The only rifles I took big game with were my 2 doubles. Although I did shot the 44 some, including a deadly snake near a village, I shot a Galil in 308, and "did a little fishing" with a FN-FAL in 308. I recovered 9 bullets from the 450 No2, and one with the 9,3x74R. I will give a report on the individual animals soon. I was very well pleased with the performance of the 9,3x74 Chapuis, and the 450 No2. The PH and the VH were greatly impressed with the power of the 450 No2, wich now carries the nick-name The Hammer Of Thor.

Congratulations on a great hunt. We were in Omay last September with a group of friends. I love that area with Lake Kariba. From talking to the Professional Hunters my understanding is that there are incredible monster lions living in Matusadona National Park. The only problem is getting them out to bait. We met Ian at the last S.C.I. Convention. He was sharing a booth with our friend John Hulme, Zambezi Hunters. Ian gave us a DVD he had made. Eighty four kills in twelve minutes. He is an amazing cameraman. Once again congratulations on your hunt, and I am looking forward to seeing your photos.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Thanks for all the kind comments. As soon as I can get my pictures on CD and learn how to post them I will. Ian is going to make me an extra video so I can circulate one around. He got some great footage. It was worth the trip just to see the Villagers go to work on an Elephant.

Wayne, is a pretty good guy hope there were no cruiser mishaps and none of his dancing and singing to elvis at 7 am, on your trip. I was on a hunt with wayne just prior to yours at the lemco concession (may 17-29) and he really is an excellent PH, but he seems to have some poor luck with cruisers, but excellent animal luck though!

NE 450 No2 Glad to hear your hunt went well, will look forward to seeing that elephant bull as thats what I will be after next trip. I am still recovering from jet lag after getting back on July 13th and will be posting my hunt soon. BTW I used the separate ammo box as you suggested and it worked well to also carry in the land cruiser. Congratulations. CFA
