Certainly and I apologize for not doing so previously. I'm still learning the preferred ways of this wonderful forum. Early July, 2004 left Knoxville, TN for ATL then ATL to JNB. Missed flight to Pietersburg. We finally got to camp in the Limpopo region of RSA approximately 15-20K west of Messina on the Pontdriff road. Thatsa long haul from JNB to Mesina in a small van. KM staff came to get us!! There is a nice resort called Dongola near the hunting area that can be used by KMHA but I'm a bush camp kind of guy. Ken's area is Dunsappie game ranch. The PH in charge is Nico Neuhoff who is tremendous. Dunsappie is set up for bow and rifle with a bit more emphasis toward bow perhaps. The concession is huge and archers and gunners won't cross up at all. KMHA has other adjoining concessions as well. The bush camp is deep into the bush and very comfortable. The stars and Southern Cross were mesmerizing. In July, 05 we hunted with PHs Frick Mueller and Spike Claussen in the Omay area of ZIM where I got the buffalo. We stayed at the Manyuli Camp with a beautiful bluff view of the Ume River. Game can be watched at all times during the day from the camp. Saw 2 elephant herds and a large Cape B herd. Frick was my PH and was really resourceful and insightful and a great companion afield. Might I add patient too. I then transferred back to Dunsappie via Beitbridge (which is complicated except KM had arranged an escort to guide me through) for a second safari for more plains game thus the big bull eland, 54" kudu, impala, and duiker. The eland and kudu were taken on tense stalks. BTW the .416 works just fine (sledgehammers)on plains game as it did on the buffalo(NP followed by sledgehammers). I hit the buffalo a bit too far back w/2 shots late evening and we had to track until noon next day to find him and finish him off. Super incredible tracking was successful. My PH for Dunsapppie in 05 was both Nico and Bulla' Horne. Again, tremendous PHs with great knowledge and terrific companions. The food was good and the beer cold both places! If anyone of you runs across Bulla' ask him what sound a kudu makes!! What a hoot! Of note on the 2005 safari we overnighted at JNB in the Holiday Inn--of which there are 2-- for the flight out to Bulawayo the next am. A real good idea since MY PRECIOUS .416 Rem. did not arrive with me the day before. I filed a claim and it arrived the next morning nicely. Early that next morning I sort of camped out by the SAPS sitting on the floor with a real dejected look and the SAPS staff became right sympathetic and very nice and talkative and celebrated with me when the gun arrived. I recommend overnighting if you do not have at a minimum of 4 hours to transfer to a connecting flight. Learned that the hard way in 2004! Also a traveling companion going on to ZIM with us was denied boarding because of only 1 or 2 open passport pages. THEY ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS!! Check that pp carefully. He overnighted in NYC, went to the passport ofc., got it fixed, barely, and came on the next day.
