Dalton Tink and York Mare are two very good young professional hunters and big names of the future of hunting in Zimbabwe. Great guys with an awesome wilderness area ! Link below for the first of two episodes in their area . Omay North https://youtu.be/4-bnrY6l7RI

Andy, Very well done. Over 11 years ago on my first trip to Zim I hunted the Omay. Dalton was still an appy. That was a great trip and I had a blast running around the Omay with him.

When I was being trained as a Zim PH we were taught never to take an initial shot at a lying down buffalo. All the reference points change. Any metallic sound - like tapping an empty cartridge onto the magazine floor plate gently will raise suspicion and if the buff does not know you are there it will usually stand up and offer a shooting opportunity. Also, it is almost impossible to age a buffalo and trophy assess it accurately when you only have a side-on view of its head.

Excellent as always. I know we should not shoot buffalo lying down but we do. ROYAL KAFUE LTD Email - kafueroyal@gmail.com Tel/Whatsapp (00260) 975315144 Instagram - kafueroyal

Seems like the pandemic situation has resulted in more residents in Africa taking advantage of the availability of hunts and favorable pricing to do hunts. Perhaps I am wrong. I would like to think that is the case and that many multi-generational African families have been able to reconnect or re-energize their hunting heritage. Mike

I know wherein doctari speaks. I shot one laying down in the shade many years ago. Tracked him for 3 days and never found him. The next hunter that came in found and killed him. I paid the trophy fee and so did the next hunter. The PH and hunting outfit made out nicely on that one.

You are completely correct Mike . It’s a beautiful thing to see the locals enjoy hunting the prime areas . Unfortunately it is not sustainable so we are all looking forward to having our foreign hunting buddies back
