Hunt date: Oct. 2--8th
Region: Kimberley--Northern Cape
PH: Murray Crous
Game taken: Barbary sheep, copper springbuck, roan, genet.
Guns: Remington XP-100 in 308 Win. T/C Encore 375 JDJ.
Scope: both guns were Leupold 2.5-8X.
Ammo: .308 Win.--DoubleTap with their 165 gr. Nosler AB. 375 JDJ--Cor-Bon 270 gr. DPX

My wife and I have just returned from Africa. We had a most enjoyable experience with Murray Crous and his lovely wife Petra. They did everything possible to make our hunt successful and rewarding. I was only looking for a few specific animals not taken on previous trips. Murray is an energetic, capable, PH that has access to prime hunting concessions. We took older mature males with all species.

Overall, Murray and Petra provided a wonderful and rewarding experience; just as we anticipated. After this hunt we headed to Mozambique with Mark Haldane's Zambeze Delta Safaris. This proved to be another great hunt.

Hopefully Murray will post some picturs.

Best of Hunting,
Mark Hampton

Thank you for the kind words.
Charl; we didn't take the kudu as we were game viewing/taking photos in a National Park. I thought the kudu was pretty nice.

Which reserve was this in? The first Kudu bull is over 60" long and a superb specimen! Looking forward to your Moz. report.

Charl; I believe it was Mopala National Park. I don't know if I spelled it correctly. About an hour or so away from Kimberley.

The Moz hunt was definately a great hunt; like our SA hunt.

Thanks,
Mark Hampton

Congrat's on a great hunt.
We (My Wife and I) hunted with Murray in 2009 and he totally fulfilled our requests. We got 7 animals (our total request) and had a great time with him and Petra.
I would definately recommend Murray as a host and PH.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Tracker49, I agree 100%, would not hesitate going back with Murray and Petra for any SA game.

Well done Mark. Looking forward to your report on Mozambique as well!
