Warthogs were such great fun to watch. I couldn't go to Africa and come back without a warthog. We took a day to hunt at a neighboring ranch on the conservancy. Because this property held elephant, we hunted out of a blind at a waterhole, since stumbling over momma and calf at close range in the thick brush just wouldn't do. The actual hunt was uneventful but successful. This old piggie wandered up to the waterhole, and a single 375 dropped him in his tracks. This was good, since otherwise I would have gotten voted to go pull him out of the waterhole!
He measured a gold medal by NAPHA standards, actually exceeded gold minimum by quite a bit. The elephant didn't show up that day, but got to see her tracks. Here's another of the warthog.
Bob, I have taken 3 pigs to date and none get close to that bad boy. I am not shooting another until I can get a whooper like at Burger King! No doubt you and Zack had a good time in Namibia. Thanks for booking with me.

Mims, thanks again for setting this superb hunt up for us. All you promised and more. He was a good warthog. Longer tusks and he'd be poking his own eyes out. Bob
Bob, did you get a chance to try those ice cream bars ... covered in dark chocolate at the Kamanjab store .. the one on the highway ...???? They are the best !!! Great pig, by the way !!!

The warthog was about 45 yards away, sipping his last drink when he got nailed. Lorenzo, I didn't make it into Kamanjab, so we didn't get to try the ice cream. We were just south of the village. The food was so good on the ranch I didn't to go shopping for snacks!
I,m really looking forward to getting the trophies shipped back. Bob
I wonder, Lorenzo, if I would have been as brave if they had been water buffalo ??? !!! Certainly loco !!! By the way, I have Mario's tusks, someone's sun glasses, and a roll of film that I have already developed ... I was really really hoping that the developed film would not show three gauchos running around naked in the camel thorn .. It showed a bunch of Uruguayans with some defunct varmints .. I'll have to mail it all to you one of these days ...
