A truly awesome read as I support you to submit this short story for publication ! I've spent the last 3 1/2 hours reading non-stop and did not once get bored from your well versed diction.
I especially enjoyed your reference to Louisiana hunters and Cajuns who are notorious for hunting at all hours of the day..... in season or out of season. Perhaps you have some past experiences hunting SW Louisiana ?? LOL.
I will send you a PM as I have family in Tulsa and need to pick your brain about planning my first African Safari. Your family adventure was well worth reading and greatly appreciated. I'm interested in any books and videos you can recommend for a first time safari planner.
In honor of Coach Stoops and the OU Boomer Sooner nation, do you mind if I send you an LSU 2003 National Champion t-shirt ? (grin).
Cajun Blake, You whooped my Sooners fair and square. The better team won, same with USC last year. I can't believe I said that, oh well.
However, you know have Les Miles - he is not a mental giant so be careful with him - use short words.
I meant no harm or bad feelings toward our brothers that leave in the swamp. I hunt there every chance I get as they have a lot of fun. If we want to win the conflict in Iraq, we need to ship in about 300 Cajuns and tell them that terrorists are out of season and good eat. That should end the problems.
Send a PM, I tell what I know..

The reason I said take one gun was that if you have breakdown, the PH's and camps usually have another. Two guns fit in a case so, go ahead. My arsenal was too large on my trip, we had 7 guns for 4 shooters.

What a wonderfully informative and interesting hunt report. Great trophies too. Congratulations to you and your family on what was obviously an awesome adventure.
An awesome and incredible family adeventure and a perfectly written hunting report. It had stories of the hunt, to do's, backround stories, and personal feelings. OUTSTANDING.
The danger of civilization, of course, is that you will piss away your life on nonsense
What a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to be able to share such high adventure. Everyone seems to have had a great time and the window is only open for a family capture such dreams for a short time. You are also fortunate that your whole group shared your interest in Africa. Congratulations! Adrian

We re-live that hunt and our time together everyday. Something reminds us of the trip all the time. With my two older kids in college, it gets harder to get everyone together to do again. However, I will as they want to do it again....
