Hi
I know it was a while back, but if possible, could you let me know how your leopard hunt with Wayne Grant went?
Thanks
D

Hello D,

It was awesome...even though I didn't kill one!!

I killed a nice Leopard with John Hunt back in 2006, so I was hunting for a monster with Wayne. We had a few "average" sized males on bait but didn't sit on them. We found a donkey killed by a monster cat and sat on it for 2 nights, but it didn't return to it.

Wayne is a specialist Leopard hunter who is amoung the best in the business and I recommend him 100%. I can't wait to hunt with him again.

I enjoyed Wayne very much and we had a GREAT time together, with lot's of laughs.

Wayne does not pity fools and he will go all out to get you your Leopard, so be prepared to hunt hard. You will sleep all night long in the blind and when you get a cat on bait there is no playing around....Wayne is all business! You can 100% confident that you are hunting with the best, just trust him and listen to what he tells you.

The best thing to do, if you want to get a good insight into what it is like to hunt with Wayne, buy his book titled, "Into The Thorns".

Fell free to pm me for more.

Frank

Have not hunted with Wayne but know him, shared camps with him, and have PH friends who know him well.

I don't think you could go wrong with Wayne if you are a serious leopard hunter. No non-sense straight-up guy. I would go in a heart-beat!

I am reading "Into The Thorns" as we speak! I am not too far into it but it already is an awesome read. I can't wait to finish reading it. His book gives a lot of insight and history of the region. My Dad and I are hunting Leopards in the Matobo Hills region with Mark Butcher's outfit and he suggested we read the book by Wayne. He sounds like a joy to hunt with, a true gentleman, and a naturalist. We leave for our hunt in July, very much looking forward to hunting in a new area of Zim. The book can be bought from Safari Press I believe.

Jim, I wish that I were going back now!

You will LOVE the Matabo...very beautiful place. I have tons of pic's of Bushman paintings. Not much plainsgame, but lot's of Leopards.

Good Luck!

Wayne is an amazing hunter. He is totally focused on outsmarting the great cat, and most often succeeds. And a ton of fun to hang with.

He got us on this bad boy in a brand new area for him. Not too bad!
