Just got these photos in from Burkina Faso. First client came in for waterbuck and roan and got both his trophies.

2011 Burkina Season


The report is that the bush is still very thick but they have started burning so it should be much more open for the next clients going in.

However game was plentiful and they saw numerous herds of Buffalo and Roan and also other antelope. In the same area we hunt Pama South, the big buffalo (close to world record size I am told) was taken by another PH and his client.

Burkina offers a great hunting experience for those hunters who have already done Southern africa. Understandably there are concerns about hunting in a country where they don't speak english but then you are missing out on a great experience.

The horror stories about W.Africa are easily circumvented if you hunt with the right folk. Richard is a french PH, born and brought up in Burkina and has been hunting there for 30+ years so knows the ropes fairly well!!! For those looking for scrape the bottom of the barrel hunts you certainly run the risk of problems.

Burkina also has some of the lowest trophy fees going! A buffalo is $665, compare that to $3,000+ for Southern African buffs~!

We still have one lion left for this year, dates would be early March.

That's a really nice Roan.

Went to Central Africa and tried twice to get one. Filled my bag on everything but that. They are tough to get close in on.
