Bump, Saeed, and thank you. Those interested might read Jeff Cooper on the virtues looking after one's own firearms, and the dangers of delegating.

It is the difference between farmers who want to make money off foreigners and professional hunters.

Well said, that is exactly the dividing line that that so few operators seem to cross. The persuit of excellence in what you do.

Please dont scold the help in front of the hunter. If the poor tracker is learning to drive a bakkie on my hunt, let him learn on your time or simply grin and bear it. Hell, I still stall my 5 speed once in a while. Also, if I'm too ignorant (or simply content!) please dont display your frustration at what we are or are not seeing by way of game on any given concession. I realize that you dont make $$$ unless the trigger is pulled but please dont make the pressure to do so palpable.

Anyone prefer to wake up to tiger's milk or a fizz?

Brewed coffee in the morning, assorted diet sodas and bottled waters, a six pack of beer (one every other night), a litre of cold tonic water every evening with lime wedges.

A breeze in the evening (I have yet to find an outfitter who will guaranty that) clean toilet, warm water for showers, the cool side of the pillow.

Warm water to wash your face with in the morning. The scout insisting on carrying my daypack, even if I'm more than capable of doing it myself and having a laugh with the trackers and skinners

Treat the staff well and you'll be surprised what a difference it will make.

Amen to that.

A positive attitude...sometimes the hunt doesn't go your way for a day or two...and having someone to tell jokes and give you a hard time makes it fun! Doesn't take life too seriously...I have to be serious all the time, when I'm on vacation, it should be a party! ( I sometimes forget that, too focused on the goal)

The Ph's I've hunted with, give it as hard as they take it.

I like sweets, and upon my arrival back at for my 2nd safari, the owners Mother remembered my love for a special cookie she makes and had them ready. She even sent some home with a colleague of mine when I couldn't accompany him 4 months later. That's serious! Good friend too, he hauled them all the way back, now foruntately for me, he doesn't eat sweets at all! SO they were safe.

Ph that takes the time to show you something out of the way, doesn't really involve the hunt, but he thinks it's cool, so they want to share it with you. Could be views, or a store in a town...anything really.

Random emails, to say "whats going on buddy?" it's all good Bull!
