I am planning my First Plains Game Hunt in Namibia for next year...

Right now I'm considering these Outfitters/PH...

Ndumo Hunting Safaris...

Boet Nel Hunting Safaris...

Makadi Safaris...

Has anyone hunted with one of them?

Thank you for your comments!

Type in any of those names under "find" and you will get reports on all three.

I can highly recommend
Ndumo Hunting Safaris (http://www.huntingsafaris.net)

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

You might also consider Getaway Kalahari Safaris. They hunt outside of Gobabis, Namibia and we have found them to be first rate.

Just got back from Makadi. Good animals but get ready for some unexpected costs.

What do you mean? I was looking at Makadi as a possible hunt.

Thanks,

I strongly advise you to steer clear of Boet Nel Safaris. Do a search on him on this forum and you will read my report on him, with some others as well. Some other guys liked hunting with him.

He was ultimately, according to Volker Grellman, NAPHA Ombudsman, admitted guilt and agreed to reimburse me funds based upon his actions on my hunt. I have not received any reimbursement from him.

I had a very bad experience with him, others did not...but there are many outfitters out there with clean slates.

404,

If you care to send it I would love to read something from Mr. Grellman stating that. Of course I have heard different and would love to satisfy my own mind in this matter.

Just for the record of this thread and the people that are to lazy to do the search.

I had a great time with Boet Nel hunted with him for 12 days. Honestly do not know how it could have been better. This was my first African trip so there is a lot I do not know, but I had an excellent time.

404 and I were in camp at the same time and he does have a major difference of opinion regarding Boet.

Also for the record me and 404 had a small cyberwar last year over this. To let everyone know I have offered to have dinner with him.

We both agreed life is to short and the next hunt is the most important.

Just to throw my two cents in here, I have hunted with Boet Nel in 2005 and in 2007. I enjoyed EVERY second with him and he treated us like friends. THE only negative things I have read on him was by 404 and that was last summer I believe. I have searched him and could not find any other negative comments.

I highly recommend him to anyone. He has the game and the knowledge to give you an EXCELLENT hunt. Just travelling around and hunting with him is worth the time in itself. I can honestly say that Boet Nel is a friend.

Montana, I would like to read whatever you get. I know we probably heard the same thing. I can PM you my email.

Thanks,

I am glad you had a pleasant couple of hunts in Africa.

I will ask Mr.Grellman for permission to post his emails to me re his conversations with Boet Nel where Nel admitted guilt and agreed to pay, as well as his "inconsistent statements (I call them lies) to the Ministry, which when he was confronted with receipts and evidence, quickly retracted..

For the record I asked Boet via email what the findings were. Boet's email stated Grellman said he owed 404 $500.

Northway, I will let 404 send them to you or post them here. At this point this matter is between Boet, 404 and Grellman. While I consider Boet a friend he is a grown man and can fight his own battles how he chooses. I do plan on hunting with him again.

And yes Karl Stumpfe is excellent I was supposed to hunt with him this year but had to pass. He was much the gentleman through out the whole process.

Thank you for posting.

Yes, he actually owes me $588.00, as of September 2006. He has not paid 1 cent of it.
WHERE IS IT? Where is the money?

What does that say about his character? He is a flim flam artist, and although admitting he owes me a refund, will not pay.

The money is one issue the other is how really unpleasant, vulgar and crude he was to deal with.

Unfortunately I got hosed on the $1250 he insisted I pay, with the threat of abandoning my wife and I in his camp unless I paid. He did not have a PH for us for 3 of the first 4 days of our hunt. When he finally came clean about this on MONDAY, the second evening, I told him it was unacceptable and we were leaving. He insisted I pay for the PH he had "booked" for us for 5 days, beginning THURSDAY of that week.

Is this really the type of guy one should hunt with? I think not.

Here is the full report on the hunt and the issues: Previous write up

DO NOT USE BOET NEL SAFARIS NAMIBIA Cool
