This was a hunt advertised here on AR that we had been looking for. We booked it in 2013 for 2014 but needed an extension, which Anton graciously allowed. This is a great leopard area but tags have been hard to obtain. We hunted the small cats like one would hunt leopards. We shot baits and got in the blinds in late afternoon. Apparently, I snore.

Animals taken were genet, civet, serval, bushpig, brown hyena, jackals and porcupine. Animal not taken was a caracal. Photos not working for me-will try later as an edit.

This was a fun hunt for me and my wife enjoyed it as well. We took a day trip to a local National Park and enjoyed that as well. Accomadations were great and very comfortable. Your non hunting companion will love it.

Genet, civet, serval; Reads like my wish list, CONGRATULATIONS! I'll be trying for my caracal in about five weeks on the East Cape but want to hunt as many of the small cats/preadtors as I can. Hope to see pictures!

Kudos on a nice hunt and you left yourself a lead in for another hunt for Caracal. Well done!

I have had thoughts of a small cat hunt over dogs but haven't found an outfitter that would be a good fit yet. Suggestions anyone?

Really nice serval! That animal has been #1 on my wish list for my last 5 hunts. When I finally did see one, I was told it was not on quota. The hunter the week before me had shot one, and they only got one per year on license where I was hunting in the Zambezi Valley.
