I wanted to also comment on the quality of our PHs. My father and I were guided by Schalk Peinaar. He is 21, works extremely hard, knows the country and the game and is very easy to get along with. Schalk gets high marks from us.
My friend and his father were guided by owner Jaco van der Merwe. They both have a high opinion of his PHing abilities. Though I wasn't guided by Jaco, I found him to be very personable and extremely honest. He had been hunting for I think 35 days straight and yet his enthusiasm was very high. The guy loves to hunt.
Here are the rest of our pics.

It was a great hunt, and even though Steve and his Dad have probably ruined hunting for Dad and I for life, we could not have been happier with ATS or any part of the hunt.
Even got to spend some time in a shark cage with Great Whites in Cape Town after the trip was over.
If anyone wants more info on ATS, here is thier website
Congrats on a great hunt and terrific pictures! I think it is terrific to be able to do father/son hunts like that and hope you can do many more in the future

Hey Steve, congratulations to you and the team on some very nice trophies. Nice to see you and your oldman still hunting together. Pass my regards onto him.

Yeah, it kinda makes the rest of your life an anticlimax. My adult son and I went with a friend to Namibia in June and are forever ruined. We are originally West Texans (and the friend is from Las Cruces), so we made exactly the same comments about "being at home" to our gracious hosts.
What part of the country does Twighlight Safaris operate in?

Steve and I met at NMSU in Las Cruces. Love that part of the country...
We hunted on four different ranches. One that was 20 min from Windhoek, The main 109K acre ranch was West of Windhoek near Solitare and Rehaboth, a ranch called Masindi that was about 20 miles east of Gobabis, and the last ranch that was near Omitara (about 45 min from the international airport)

Congratulations. I too shoot thumbhole rifles and have had great success using them in Africa, having taken close to 70 plains and dangerous game with them in .270, .300 WSM and .375 calibers.

Thanks Glenn. Great to hear from you. See you in Dallas?

That thumbhole is a .338 win mag. What makes that rifle so special for me is that Dad hand carved the stock for me!

I should mention that we bumped into a female ostrich while we were at the ATS ranch. I showed her a picture of Steve and she got all hot and bothered.
