Fine animals, piss poor posing with the hunter
scrunched down behind them, camera right up
close to the games face. Distortion to the
max! damned shame most of you guys pose 'em
like that.

Thank you for your criticism. However, We like the way we pose the animals we hunt and we will keep posing them in whichever manner we and our clients see fit. I trust you can respect that.

Not to take away from the original post by any means, but George please could you perhaps post one of your ideal trophy pics so we can all learn how to take good photos! In my humble opinion the trophy pic should be about the animal more so than the hunter.

To each his own on pictures I guess.

just compare to how Saeed pose's theirs.

I haven't been to Africa so don't have any.
Much better when the hunted is up near the head
though. That gives a more realistic idea of size.

Beautiful pictures and fine animals regardless of my critisim.

So you keep saying. If it’s to each his own, why are you still making the same point. Twice in this thread?

I see Georges comments and I have pictures the way he likes them, but no way to post them. If someone can do it for me, will send a few. One thing he likes is to get a better perspective on the size of the animal. If someone can receive and post a few of mine, I can send them along. Thanks..

MR. Watson:

IF you'd care to see how I believe dead game
animals should be posed for pictures.
Just go look over how Dogcat does it.

Perfect! Even the one of a zebra he was behind
at a distance. He was full kneeling at full height, not hiding down trying to make game look larger than it is.

This is my last on the subject. Hopefully, you
can see what I was trying to say.
Seems like I stepped on your sore spot, or
maybe it was just the way I said so.

Either way, I wish you well and still thank you for sharing your hunt and pictures.

George

But like I explained to you politely before. You seen to struggle to comprehend this. We’ll pose our trophy pics as we and our clients see fit. So I’ll thank you and hope it is indeed your last word on the subject

Seems like a very good hunt with some fine trophies and comraderie.

As for the photographic comments, these type of shots are fairly common (with hunters posing well behind the animal) in the hunting industry. I suspect this is taught in PH training.

Although it is a matter of personal taste as supposed to absolute correct/incorrect method, I am not a fan of these shots.

My preference is having the hunter up close to the head. This gives a better perspective to the true size of the animal.

I think most trophy animals are magnificent on their own merits without resorting to photography tricks.

It’s like the fish photos that make the fish look big but also make the fisherman’s fingers look larger than his head!

But to each his own.

Thanks for your comments. I consider photography an art and appreciate different ways of taking photos. I like making the horns a focal point leading linearly down towards the hunter directly behind (not far behind) the animal. But I also appreciate other ways of posing animals. The intention isn't to trick anyone here on AH. I believe most on AH can judge a trophy animal here by the shape of it's horns. These are quality trophy animals- not culls made to look like something they aren't.

BTW If hunting buffalo is better than sex you're probably not doing it properly Wink

Each to his own - and I'm not paying lip service to the expression in this instance
