I recently returned from a 10 day plains game safari in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. This was my first time to Africa and I had a fantastic trip. The safari exceeded my expectations in every category. The food, accomodations, and hunting were all great. My ph, Jacques Fourie, was outstanding, very personable and informative, as well as great out in the bush. I booked my safari directly with Kikuyu Lodge and highly recommend then to anyone who is considering a plains game hunt in South Africa. I will definitely be returning and hunting with Kikuyu and Jacques again in the near future.

They do have a beautiful lodge. Also, you are correct in that they have a tremendous amount of land. I don't have my notes in front of me, but I believe the main property was around 18,000 acres. They also utilyze several other concessions. On my safari, we hunted 5 different areas. I really enjoyed seeing the different ranches as all were unique. Pictures forthcoming!

Isn't the view from the chalets fantastic? Do they still have those Zebra skins down that slip and slide in the dinning area? I hunted there in 01 - was the 5th hunter at the new lodge.

The chalets are exellent. I enjoyed looking down into the valley and watching the bushbuck, impala, and giraffes feeding. The zebra rugs in the main lodge have now been replaced with blue wildebeest as I recall.
