As far as possible I like to find hunts for my clients that are unique in some way or the other, be it a exotic locale, good pricing, great trophy quality or simply a different situation.

I offered some Kudu hunts in South Africa which take place in December - February time period which is typically not the best time to hunt in SA, but the local situation with the insects at that time of the year in this area cause the Kudu and other species as well to come out of the thickets in to the open areas. You will be able to view a large number of bulls and select the ones you wish to hunt. An AR member took me up on this hunt and took 4 nice kudu in a week as seen in the picture below. This hunt is more like a Western mountain hunt, where one glasses from high mountains using a spotting scope before planning their stalk.

People interested in long range shooting will also love this area in Kwa Zulu Natal as you can shoot as far as the eye can see. Obviously shooting should be restricted to one's abilities.

I hunted there personally as well this year and will post a detailed hunt report.

I cannot more speak highly of this great operator. Its a small family run business and apart from his own property which is very mountainous he also hunts many big cattle ranches on which most of the kudu hunting is done. This is totally free range hunting.

I will be posting more information and rates for 2024. Feel free to reach out if you are looking for a very unique hunt.

Thanks for your time.

Those are four exceptional bulls! Congratulations to the hunter....it sounds like a very unique hunt.

What are the temperatures like during those months? It must be hot.

It can be hot and humid and at this time of the year but you can also expect some showers passing through which cools the place down. But its a very good time to see multiple bulls each day and enjoy a very unique hunt.

Spots are limited as its a short window for this hunt. Of course you can hunt Kudu and all the other species year around as well. Its just that at this time of the year you can focus on the Kudu.
