I answered your PM. I will paste a copy of my answers here for the benefit of others. Q.: How was your trip? I am looking at bidding on a trip that is offered at a banquet. How were the accomidations, animals and did you bow hunt or gun hunt... A: For a first time African hunt, the AMS -SCI donation hunts would be a good choice. Although, his package to each Chapter varies, I think based on the size of the Chapter. I was rifle hunting. All hunts are on private land behind fences. But, most properties are expansive. The property you visit each day will typically depend on what you intend to harvest that day. Some properties have abundance of many species. Some specialized in a few species. Trohy quality was excellent. I had a tough go the first couple of days with one PH (not Jacques), who wanted me to shoot from the truck, which I didn't want to do. Jacques realized my frustration and began to guide me himself and we had several excellent stalks. The accomodations were excellent, but at the time we were there I believe he could only accomodate two or three couples. I beleive he told me he planned to add on more rooms, which may be completed by now. His cooks were excellent. The common areas for clients was comfortable and very tasteful. The "lodge" was on his family homestead, but Jacques' family lives in seperate homes from the "lodge". Q.: It looks like a good trip, but can more than two couples go? If we buy it, we would probably take several couples and maybe even a couple toddlers... Would this PH be able to accomidate us? A.: He may well be able to, although I can't definitively say as he was having some construction done when we were there 11 months ago. I suggest you contact Jacques Senekal, africamaximum@goggaconnect.co.za for specific answers to your questions. I know of two couples here (Oklahoma) that have been back hunting with Jacques twice since thier first SCI hunt with him.
