Dear AR members and readers

2014 was a relatively successful year, considering its the first year I've "gone on my own". Going on my own has allowed me to hunt new areas and countries a like, which has been an awesome experience in its self. Apart from Zimbabwe, my adventures in 2014 took me for the first to Cameroon, Botswana and South Africa. I also went back to Mozambique, albeit into a new area for me. It's been a year where I've had many high lights and some lows. The lows being losing a very nice elephant bull in Mozambique and failing on a leopard hut in Mozambique. The highs were sharing a camp in Botswana with my parents, wife and little boy, taking a nice lion in Zimbabwe, couple 60" kudus, top 10 roan amongst others.

On behalf of my wife, boy and I, thank you to all the people who have come and hunted with me in 2014. I really appreciate your support and look forward to more adventures in 2015 and beyond. I personally guided 12 safaris this year and 11 safaris were with repeat clients, so thank you. I'd also like to say thank you to the operators and company directors whom I've worked with this year. Northern Operations Africa, Mokore Safaris, Zambezi Hunters, Roger Whittall Safaris, Professional Hunter Services and Garry Kelly Safaris. Your honesty, integrity and reputation is why I will continue to work with you.

I hope you enjoy the photos of my 2014 season. I look forward to meeting some of you in Dallas and Vegas this year. In Dallas I'll be in booth 3644 and in Vegas I'll be in booths 1343/1442. Pop in for a chat.

All the best and happy hunting
Thierry Labat

AR member FishN4Eyes, brought his whole family to Sango and we had a great time. The whole family was a pleasure to be with and the girls also had a massive appreciation of the bush, their trophies and the whole trip.

Jim and Theresa had an awesome time on Sango and we managed to get his cat on the 4th day of the hunt.

Miguel's lion was one of the highlights of the season. We managed to get these awesome trophies in 7 days. The lion was taken on literally the first evening of the hunt, thanks to some pre-baiting.

Thierry and Thomas enjoyed an ele/buff hunt in the Sengwa Research area.

Kent managed to get some nice animals in Mozambique, but unfortunately the leopard didn't work out. Nonetheless we had a great adventure.

JP and Erick on Sango. It's hard to believe that JP is almost 81yrs old and can keep a steady pace when hunting buffalo, eland etc. His shooting was spot on. He gained a huge amount of respect from everyone involved in the hunt.

One of the highlights of the year was spending a week in Botswana with my parents, wife and son. For once I got to hunt some animals myself. Its pretty cool!!

My first ever hunt in South Africa was with Antonio. It was strictly a bow hunt and we managed to get some cracker animals. Antonio has hunted most African spices with a rifle and so now he is repeating it with a bow.

Miguel's second hunt of the year was in Mozambique.

Dan's double elephant and buffalo hunt worked out quite nicely.

Nick and Philip took the deal I had advertised on AR, late last year and we managed to get a couple good buff.

It's not just about shooting and dead animals.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It helps to hunt in areas that have the quality, which makes my job a lot easier.....I'd also like to mention that there are photos from my Cameroon hunt as well as my first hunt in Zim that I haven't posted. They're were on a different memory card which I didn't have with me, when I visited Vallaro who helped me post this. I'll try get them up.

Superb trophies! I'll second the vote on the most outstanding as the 81 yr. old gent's eland... bloody astounding!

Hope I can manage as long as your client JP!

Also nice that a PH can go hunting himself occasionally.

Congrats!

I would expect nothing less from "Legend" Labat.
He truly is a lot of fun to hunt with & knows how to take care of his clients.
It also doesn't hurt to have Mudini along as well.
