I just finished My 3 plains game safari.
We hunted with Dalerwa Ventures for Wildlife for the second time.
Hunters Bill Watson, Henry McMillan
Guns 300 SAUM, 9.3/62? and 308
P.H.s Siegfried Osmers, Floris De Meyer
Areas Hunted, Ermelo for Red Letchwe, Black Wildebeast, Blesbuck. Limpopo General, And Musina for Gemsbok, and Mt. Reed Buck, Klipspringer.
Dalerwa was flooded in 2013, so temp. housing was in Thornybush game preserve. Great place to see game, no hunting. We had a Leopard make a kill by the swimming pool.Lots of Rhinos and other big stuff around.
The first couple days We hunted Letchwe with Henry taking a nice ram. I passed as the tarif would have blew My budget.
We both took nice Blacks but Blesbuck were too hard because the herds were large and could not get a clear shot. Also very hard to approach with no cover.
Limpopo my main object was reedbuck but permits were being held up.
Henry went to Musina and conected on a nice Gemsbok. No Klipspringer or Mt. Reed Buck.
I spent my time collecting 2 Steenbucks. I shot one that a cat had gotten hold of and He was torn up, ears and body. So I got a chance later in the week at a pretty one.
With the Reedbuck screw up. I had passed on a super Blue Wildebeast and decided to go after him.
The temp. was 103/105 in a blind and I ended up taking a super Warthog and average Impala.
In all this was a fun hunt with not a lot of goals.
Food, Service,Accomadations were super.
Flights Nashville to Atlanta to Jberg were smooth.
This place will be something when they finish rebuilding.
