I am thinking of booking a hunt with Martin Pieters in Zimbabwe this summer. I looking for some feedback from people who have hunted with him. I will be hunting the lowveld area for Leopard with my father. He gave me references and we will check them, but nobody gives bad references. Looking for someone who may have hunted Leopard with him. I know Martin will see this and I mean no offense at all. Just doing my homework. I just want a little more feedback before we book.

Also, has any one hunted the old Ferguson ranch it is in the west Nicholson area adjacent to Lemco and the Bubye valley conservancy in the past few years. How are the plains game in the area? Please PM me with any info.

Thanks and have a great day!

A quick advanced search of these threads will deliver a number of AR folks and their hunt reports with Martin. I have hunted with him three times and all hunts were excellent. See attached... but do the search and read them all for a great overview of what to expect on a safari with Bulembi.

Hunting in the Omay with Martin's outfit. Lindon Stanton was the excellent and extremely hard working PH. Didn't get a leopard, but not for lack of trying. Had one on bait and a poacher stole the bait! Did get two buffalo. There was one very large leopard wandering around that was way too wise to baits. We saw his tracks around several of the baits and he obviously knew the drill.

Lindon Stanton (one of Martins PHs) would be my pick for a Low-veld Leopard.
I would also book for at least 14 days.

I have hunted with Martin's operation the past two years. He is a stand up guy with very loyal, qualified and passionate PH's. Remember this is a large operation and sometimes things get shuffled around a bit; the plus side is there's plenty of back up to guarantee will get a proper hunt. I would not hesitate to recommend or book a hunt with him.

Great outfit! My son and I did a DG hunt with Martin, Aug. 2011. We had a fabulous time, with zero issues. If I could go again, Martin would get the call.

From what I read from Martin, book the hunt.
Can't go wrong there, he sounds like intelligent , educated , knowledgeable and upstanding guy.
Just bring the right attitude with you and don't worry about the outcome or success and that way you will enjoy yourself till the end.
At least that's what I always do and I never had a bad hunt

Martin's Safari Company is one of the few that I would recommend without reservation.

You can't go wrong mate!! Martin runs a tight ship and is a great guy. I hunted buffalo there a few years ago with Matt Stanton(Lindon's brother) and we had a fantastic, although sort hunt, on cape buff. I took a beautiful 37inch bull with 13.5inch bosses hunting in the Ume river area. you will have a great hunt tu2
