I will be hunting with HHK in Chirisa this September, and was wondering if there are any hunters that have hunted there this (2005) season. Reports on game and field conditions would be helpful. Thank you

Mau Mau,

Send me a PM with your address and I will send you our video of Chirisa from August 2000. My husband took a huge lion and buffalo. Chirisa is my favorite place. What will you be hunting?

I hunted in Dande North last month. The PH's I was with said Charisa is a great place for buff, elephant and leopard. I saw plenty of croc and hippo on the river as well. I am not sure about plainsgame there as it was "hit or miss" in Dande.

Good luck and have fun.

dogcat,

Chirisa is in the Midlands not the Zambezi Valley, so your comparison to Dande North is not really valid.

Regards,

Terry

I hunted Charisa in 2003 and 2004. Many, many elephant and buff. Good numbers of impala, eland, kudu, wart hog, grysbuck and zebra. Fewer nunbers of bush buck, water buck and sable. No crocks or hippo but very good numbers of lion and leopard. Much more plains game then Dande or Chete. A great place for a general bag hunt. Great accomadations and food especially if you get get Tapewa as you cook.
