I did post this here little more than three years ago, but it's a great trophy and a good video of a Bull that is quite exceptional and old. Enjoy.

Yes, that's a good video. What a fantastic old bull he was fortunate to take.

Wendell I really enjoy your shot video clips. More especially when I know the players.

I wonder if the scarring and protrusions from the horns and onto the snout could have been caused by an early snare wound? I've seen something similar forming in a buffalo calf with a snare on its head.

When the first shot was taken, weren't there other buffalo standing behind the bull? A .375 would penetrate a buffalo broadside, surely?

Great clip though!

We wondered what could cause the two different unique formations.

The big ball of horn that grew out of the bottom of his horn ... Who knows. Cancer? A bullet wound? No idea.

The unicorn growth on the boss appears to be a part of the boss that had been separated from the main boss. It was not attached to the skull though, but was clearly horn material.

Correct there were other buffalo behind. And the client did use a 375. But no a soft nose bullet will not go through the chest of a buffalo and even bigger calibers such as 416 will only penetrate to the other side and normally sit under skin.

Didn't I hear someone say something about a wounded cow?

Good video

Could well be early snare damage.

Hi Thor, thanks for clarifying!

My pictures of the calf I've seen with a snare wound around the base of its horns and across its forehead are unfortunately not clear enough to be worth posting. If I see it again I'll try get a better pic.

Yes, at the back of the herd, there was a wounded cow. She was far right and in the trees at the time of the shot, she wasn't wounded by the shot.

You can hear Thor say, "Oh Jack, there is a wounded cow."

Must have been exciting trying to pick out a great bull among all those buff!

Personally, I've never cared for "non-typical" headgear, even on a big buff, but that's just me.

Great job all around though.

That Buffalo we were on, on the first morning, was what I liked! He looked to be a solid 40" maybe a bit over? Very nice Buffalo!

He's the one I highlighted with the shadow circle. That was a nice Buff.

Would have been a let down to shoot that the first morning. You would be robbed of the experience of hunting Buffalo to shoot him after only a short stalk.

Jack wasn't an inch hunter for the most part. But he did have an expectation when it came to Kudu, and he met it too! He got a heck of a nice Kudu. The footage is decent. I did start editing it. Ill have to go find it and put it up.
