I hunted with Usangu Safaris in Oct. 2004. Everything was as promised. I hunted the Usangu Game reserve and then flew to Arusha and drove to their Lake Natron area everything was well taken care of.

I got a total of 11 animals.

Aziz

A gerenuk is certainly one on my wish list. Sounds like an excellent safari. How about sharing more of those pictures and details?

Nice crocodile! I've always wanted to shoot one, but I don't know what I'd do with it.

Since Aziz has left for Azerbijan to hunt Thar, I will post a couple of his Tanzania Pics. I don't think he will mind his younger brother posting them.

Ahmed,

Your brother picked up some nice East Africa trophies. I have hunted the northern part of Natron on the lake and it is very nice.

BTW is that an Apex Magnum your brother is holding? Looks very much like one1

Mark

The bullet hit on the right side behind the rib cage and came out in front of the shoulder and destroyed any prospects for a full body mount.

I was using a 150 grain bullet and will not advise a 7mmSTW for this size animal. The problem is you can only take 2 rifles and I had a 416 Rem Mag as my other rifle.

I had to take a lot of care so the other side did not show in the photograph.

Aziz

you are actually allowed 3 guns per person in TZ. A .22 mag would be an excellent 3rd rifle for Africa. A strong point for using small caliber solids for the smaller game. In fact, if these aren't available, then a solid from a 416 will do less damage than a 150 gr nosler from a 7mm Wink

Bwanamich,

Most airlines limit you to two firearms per guncase, I bet that is what Aziz was talking about when he said he was limited to two rifles. But you are correct, a solid is a good choice for the small stuff. I took a .416 and .375 to Zim and I took a few solids for my .375 to use on bushbuck, etc.

Regards,

Terry
