We were actually able to catch him while he was sleeping. It was a bit nerve racking being so close.

check out the video we took

Great report and photos. As others have said, congratulations on taking the eland of a lifetime!

How soon will you be rturning to the 'Dark Continent?' I'm betting it won't be very long.

I'm already thinking about it! The next trip will be near water and include dangerous game. I'm thinking Buffalo but hippo and croc sound good too. Can't rule out Leopard or PAC elephant either! Not all on the same trip though. My guess is it might take me 3 years to get back since it is my 10 year wedding anniversary in 2011 and the wife shot down going to Africa, she wants to go to Europe Frowner

Last summer I refinished my basement with thr Trophy room idea in mind. The basement is a walkout and has ceilings as high as 10 feet in some areas. I have been waiting for my trophies from my May 2009 Botswana hunt to come in and they are in and up!

Nice mounts! Who did your taxidermy? How long did it take to get things shipped back from Botswana?

I used Pete at http://www.gameheadsvt.com/ I got some recomendations from this site to use him.

Shipping was very fast from Bostwana. I left in the middle of May and My trophies were in New York at Fauna and Flora at the end of Aug! Shipping and Taxidermy were complete in less then 11 months total.

Great report and pictures. Ya gotta love those Wartie's (and all the rest of course).
I would assume that you are working on the "wish list" for next time already!
