Hi All,

I had another great season at Royal and did a bit of hunting in the Luangwa as well as across the river from me in Lunga Luswishi. Along the way met some great personalities and some awesome folks from AR. There were many highlights and too numerous to mention.

This last season saw my son Tom and a good bloke Jake Jones from Texas learning the ropes. They were good to have around and hopefully, they learned something. They will both be joining me for this coming season and again most of our clients are old friends and acquaintances from this forum. Much looking forward to hunting Buff with Darin again although she hung up her guns years ago! Charles is going to have another bash at the monster Leopard. One that simply did not conform to any hunting method that I know of. Never come across a cat that could finish baits in one sitting or abandon the bait only to appear midday three days later! Such are Leopard and I try for another oversized cat across the river and for the sake of a few minutes could not get a shot in daylight. Another super cat that ran rings around us. However, the two-tier pricing makes all this very affordable and one lucky chap took a Lion on foot on the very last hour of his safari. A very exciting hunt that endured a charge.

The quality of plains game was very high and we took some monstrous reedbuck and host of other fine Kafue species. Buffalo were in good numbers and some fine specimens were hunted. The biggest buffalo recorded was the first buffalo on the first morning of a chaps safari and he thought we might find something bigger than 46! Anyway, he is still out there and hopefully, we will come across his path again.

The annual group hunt was held in Lunga Luswishi care of Richard Bell Cross and everyone got their priority animals and the quality was first class. Lots of fun was had and everyone shot well.































Next up Roan, Sable Croc and a variety of plainsgame.

Some great trophies there. Since you'll never come to DSC, you're going to force me book with you to actually meet you. But that seems like a good plan. I'm booked for 2020, but been wanting to go to Northern Rhodesia for a while now. Can you send me a PM?

I'm particularly interested in sitatunga, lechwe and cats. Always interested in buffalo.

Another cracking season Mr Baldry. The Royal Kafue Project continues to set the benchmark for conservation hand in hand with community. The trophies are consistent with your reputation as one of Africa’s premier PH’s.

Yes sir, I sure enjoyed that trip. I heard that Phil wasn’t feeling well afterwards and I hope he’s doing better. I would like if all of our paths cross again sooner than later.

It was extremely good. Surprisingly good.
