I hunted with a friend in the Northwest Province with David Thomas,PH. We had a 7 day plains game hunt with really good results and a 6 day Leopard hunt with less result. We were met at Joberg by the Outfitter (Keith Boehme) and moved through customs and weapons registration with all due speed. The hunting started the next day and proved up to advanced billing. I took a 23 1/2 " Red Hartebeeste, a 16 1/2"Limpopo Bushbuck, a 53" Kudu, a 4" steinbuck. a 700 lb Zebra and a 12" wart hog. The accomadations were first class, the food was exceptional and the guidance superb. Worth every cent and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'd ramble on (and will later) but I'm using a borrowed computer.
I took everything with a 9.3x62 CZ and they went down like they were lighting struck: 54.6 gr Norma 201 with Nosler 286 gr partitions. It was my PH's first exposure to the 9.3 and he was impressed by the performance. Recovered bullets did what they were supposed to do. Penetration was awesome. More later with pics.
