Great report; a fine hunt and the stops in London and Zanzibar really added to the adventure.
I wasn't surprised to hear that it was tough to get cats on bait with all of the newborns running around. I hope you can get back soon and round out the things that eluded you.
How did it work out for you to find the time to track elephants while also managing cat baits?

I'm so glad that everyone seems to have enjoyed the report. As I said, it was a lot of fun writing it and reviewing and posting the photos too.

Vic, we didn't hunt anything but elephant until after we had killed that bull. We did nothing else until then. Just hunted elephant. I would have done that for 21 days had it been necessary.

I think one really needs to focus on elephant in order to be successful, and even then, luck plays a big role and success is far from guaranteed.

As for cats, I've been lucky with lion and leopard before, but I knew that this late in the season, the cat hunting would be iffy at best. We had a leopard hit a bait once, but he never came back.

We also had two leopard baits eaten by lion. Don't believe anyone who tells you that lion can't climb trees . . . I'm here to tell you that it depends on the tree - and what's in it!

It is great to see some people do not just talk the talk, but walk the walk as well!

Sir, I want to congratulate you on a very well written report and most entertaining one at that. Also very good animals, and great pictures.

I also look forward to you going back so that we can get more reports like this one.
