Plains game hunting in Kwa Zulu Natal.

Date:2016-03-19 -- 2016-03-29.
North of Hluhluwe, private game farms.
Hunters: Me and 3 friends from Sweden.
Rifle: Husqvarna 1900, customized by P-O Stenmark.
Caliber: .30/06.
Bullet: Swift Scirocco II 180 grains.
Outfitter: Cape Hunt Safaris.
PH: Matt Van Zyll, Barry Cunningham.

The hunt was conducted on private game farms and all of us had different goals during the hunt. Depending on the drought we had to rethink what animals we wanted to hunt because for example Blue Wildebeest was affected a lot depending on the drought, there was lot of animals that had died so we did not see that many Blue Wildebeest.
The areas was nice and so was the camp.
Both PH:s worked hard for us and so did the rest of the crew.

My main goal was Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Baboon, Impala and maybe something more. But as hunting is what it is, everything can change, so finaly I did get, Zebra, Impala, Giraffe, Nyala and Vervet monkey.

I only post pictures of my own animals, more was taken by my friends of course.

By the way, the Giraffe was not taken with the .30/06, it was taken with a CZ.450 Watts.

Zebra.

Impala.

Giraffe.

Nyala.

Vervet monkey.

Great pictures and a beautiful rifle. Looks like you had a fun hunt. Did you see any Bushbuck? What are you going to do with the giraffe?

Thanks, yes it was a great hunt.
I did not see any bushbuck.
I will have a rug of the Giraffe (a big rug!) and the skull and the femur bones bleached.

Well done. Really like your rifle! And the caliber.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.
