Well done Ahmed! Sorry about the cheetah... sounds like lion hunting might have been a tad more successful. Wink And great to see you introducing your son to hunting. My time spent hunting with my son have produced some great memories for us both!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Incidently, Shahmeer's grandfather is also buying him a 410 Shotgun but I am sure that he will not be able to match U Saeed in taking it to school Smiler

Ahmed: I will be hunting cape buffalo, along with hyena, eland and some other plains game with PH Martin Nel, and Bwanna will be hunting with Shaun Buffee for leopard. We will be based out of the Ngali Camp, but I will be hunting other areas up north in the conservancy for buffalo with the Searcy 450-400 DR. Big Grin

Great UEG, Ngali is where we stayed in 2004 when I went with my father. During my this recent hunt, Shaun was guiding my friend who started his hunt on the 8th day of my hunt, I shared the camp with Shaun for couple of days, he is a very nice guy. When we were there the Ngali side was just bone dry and all the herds had moved north, so it is good that you can move around, good luck I am sure you will find a good Buff.

I have always enjoyed your hunting posts. Of course, this one would certainly be one of the best.

My sons will be 12, 16, and 17 when I take them on their first safari in 2014. My father will be 66 and he will go with us on his first safari. We cannot wait!

Samir, this is exactly what my wife's sentiments was when our son was born. She even challenged me that she will brainwash the son in such a manner that he will never want to go hunting! I told her that at the moment you do potty washing and we will see about hunting in time Wink

Congradulations, theres some memorys the two of you will never forget.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Ahmed,

Thanks for sharing your Father-Son experience. Looks like you have a new hunting companion for life! Great to see kids brought into the sport and taught the proper way by an experienced hunter. Good on you.

What a good hunt report and great photographs. I'm sure shameer will have many more trips with you. Above all, thanks for sending me and my son to this place, a truly divine and memorable experience. Have done a whole bit of hunting in Africa myself, but this place was truly unique,

Cheers,

Ali

Wonderful report. Chasing a buffalo on your very first African hunt at 9 must have been an amazing experience for the youngster.
