Bob, I think I have it figured out. Thanks for setting me on the right track.

I think I was lucky to take such a large Kudu on my first safari. Not trophy length horns but thick and animal was as big as they come according to my PH

The wildebeest was the first big game animal I've taken as a hunter. About 150 yards on shooting sticks. I was shaking like a leaf and shot too high. I think Nosler Partitions in .373 H&H are good thing.

The PH (Jan Dumon) said my shot breaking both legs and through the heart was "a classic trophy hunter's shot, you keep a good skin that way." I was lucky to hit the animal as he was walking along quite briskly.

Too bad he fell and cracked that front lower right tusk.

Steenbok sure are little.

As I said, he was a big one.

Welcome to the forums, those are fine trophies!
What made you decide to hunt Africa without shooting big game previously? Any book or movie?
