DOJ,

Tough luck on the cat. Man, they are hard work, aren't they? I have been luckier than an Irish four-leaf clover when it comes to cats, but they are just incredibly hard work.

Sounds like you had a great time, though, despite the no-show on Mr. Spots. Isn't Vaughan just the greatest host and hunting companion? He has a marvelous way with people and is great company, isn't he?

I also used a .338 with 225 grain bullets on everything but Steenbok. I saw no difference between the performance of the Trophy Bonded Bear Claws and the Barnes XLC coated X-Bullets. Both killed like the stroke of Death himself. I really think the .338 is just about perfect for everything but buffalo, hippo and elephant (rhino are too big too, but I'll probably never join the rhino club).

Tell us about your Giraffe hunt! Also, please post some pictures. I thought my hunt with Vaughan was in many ways more memorable and exciting than my full-bag, 21 day East African safari.

I'd particularly like to see a picture of your big springbok, since I didn't get one on my trip.
