Location - Khomas Hochland Mountain Range, Namibia Date of hunt - April 18-29,2017 PH - Benny Bishoff, Duiker Safaris Rifles used - 1962 Remington 700 in 264 Winchester Magnum(the first rifle I ever purchased) Remington 700 embellished in 7mm Remington Magnum Ammo - Nosler Custom Ammo 140 gr Nosler Partitions caliber 264 Win Mag. 140gr Barns TTSX handloads caliber 7mm Remington Mag. Animals hunted - Leopard, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra I hunted with Duiker Safaris. The PH was Benny Boshoff. On quota was one Leopard and two Hartmann's Mountain Zebra which are Native to the Mountain Range where I hunted. I took the Leopard the second day!!! UNREAL!!! They estimated his age at 13 years old. He has scars all over from fighting. What a Trophy!!! He was all I could have hoped for. He was rough scored at 16 1/4" This is a Video of the Leopard from their trail cam. https://youtu.be/GhDaf-1433Y One of our Bushman carrying the Cat. One of the two Females in the same area as my cat. My PH Benny and I . We shot a lot of Jackals. One of the MANY flat tires. There was a HUGE Hail storm that we got caught in. We parked the Rover under a tree for about and hour so we wouldn't damage it. One of the creeks we drove through that was dry had 2 1/2 feet of water after the storm. We waited until it subsided before driving through it. It took three Safari's in three different Countries but I finally saw my first snake. Maybe someone can chime in and tell me what it is? The food was Excellent. We had Zebra Tenderloins on the Braai. They only put Salt and Pepper on it and it was one of the best meats I have ever tasted!!! I took my new Mavic Pro Drone and will post some Video when I get it edited. Here are a couple of Barns TTSX 140gr. 7mm Rem Mag bullets that were recovered. They are either out of a Zebra or a Gemsbok(I shot a couple of culls)? I shot the Leopard with a 264 Win Mag using 140gr Nosler Partitions.

It's a snake! Anything with camouflage and a triangular head screams "adder" to me. My first trip to Africa was to the highlands there in Namibia and the only snake I saw was a cape cobra. Bloody hell a Leopard like that in two days! You are surely blessed. What a great trophy to take and look forward to seeing the mount. The snake has the markings of what they call the Horned Adder or Horned Puff Adder which are fairly common in South West Africa. Well done on your Hartman's and other trophies. Looks like money well spent! ROYAL KAFUE LTD Email - kafueroyal@gmail.com Tel/Whatsapp (00260) 975315144 Instagram - kafueroyal

Congratulations to a very nice cat! The snake on the picture is a Horned adder (Bitis caudalis), slightly venomous small adder with no known lethal bites on humans.

Congratulations on a beautiful leopard and nice zebras! Less lethal or not, never want to get bit by any snake, including non-venomous types.

That cat is the PERFECT example of what we all, as contentious hunters and conservationists, should strive to kill. That 13 year old Tom was way past his prime and was in declining health. He was scared up, thin and atrophying as is evident by his small size and poor musculature...shrinking like the old man we all hope to be one day He is actually the size of a young Tom. Slider, don't think I am demeaning your cat in any way, since as I said before, he was past fighting other males and breeding females. He probably didn't even hold a territory any longer. No infanticide would occur bc of his death. He was a dead man walking. GREAT Job Slider!! Post more pics of him, especially his teeth if you have any

Genetics mate. In Zambia that would be a great Luangwa valley cat. If you are looking for size then hunt the hill country of Zimbabwe or the cool plateaus of the Kafue in Zambia. I am not a great one at ageing Leopard but this cat is no doubt an old battle scarred specimen and for me the absolute perfect trophy. I stand corrected then Why would you say that they are so much smaller than the Leopards in Zim then?? I assume that they have a better food source in the Valley as opposed to the Matopas, etc Just genetics??

After reading my comments over again, I hope that the OP doesn't think that I am calling his Leopard "small." In the photo's it looks to be 150 or so pounds. What I was trying to say is that for a 13yo Leopard, I would think that it would look bigger/thicker, and that it's advanced age had him on the decline. As Fairgame said, I guess I am thinking of Zimbabwe Lowveldt cats. I will repeat again tghat I think that the OP's Leopard is the epitome of what we should all be striving to kill....an old, probably past fighting/breeding age male. My own Leopard from Zim was about the same size as this one but it was aged at only 2 or so years of age...something that bothers me to this day, since he wasn't fully mature and probably never had a chance to establish a territory, fight, and breed. I would love to see more pics of the OP's cat if you have them

Well done! Super Leopard, and those are beautiful Hartmann's Zebras. I only have one Leopard that I got in Zambia with Fairgame (Andrew) back in 2015. They are certainly fun to hunt and I hope to do so again some day, although I don't think I can improve on the one we got. I have also hunted Hartmann's Zebra in Namibia, and I have to agree with you. The best meat I have ever eaten in my life was that Zebra. I think I'll go back and hunt them again just for the meat!!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. This Leopard did have his own territory. Another male has since moved in.It took almost 2 weeks. I would have to assume he was still breading as there were 2 females in his territory. He had some broken canine's and I don't know how much longer he would survive? He has a Beautiful coat and appears to be in good health.(see Video above) I looked at a lot of pictures of harvested leopards in the area and he is noticeably larger than any of them!!! Also the age of thirteen was an estimate from the P.H.The Taxidermist will age the cat and I will report back.

Well done. I took a couple of mountain zebra in October only a few kilometres from where you took yours. Would like to know how the leopard hunt went down. Pretty rare to get one in daylight I believe. The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
